How to fix that annoying Bootloop Issue on Nexus 5X and other LG models

Users have discovered a manufacturing defect on some LG Smartphones introduced between 2015 and 2016. The affected LG phones eventually become unstable and get stuck on a loop that attempts to boot. This annoying defect, adeptly called ‘bootloop’- leaves the phone inoperable.

The LG G4, released in 2015, has been the most affected by this issue, with early reports of the issue coming in as early as 2015 on social media sites such as Reddit. Initially, LG was inconsistent in accepting warranty claims on the affected phones, leaving some users frustrated or having to go through their wireless carrier for repair. A petition was made calling LG to acknowledge the manufacturing issue.

Finally, in January 2016, LG representatives released a statement acknowledging the issue in some G4 models, explaining the issue was a result of “loose contact between components”. They stated that it was unknown if it depended on “usage behaviour” or how many devices were affected. Similar flaws have been reported with previous or sister LG models like the Nexus 5X, LG V10 & V20 and the LG G5.
